Hello hexagons!

A few weeks ago I got an invitation to participate in the Design Team of the Crazy for CAS blog. As you can imagine, it didn't take much time to say yes to this challenge!

Today  my first contribution. The challenge is: use hexagons. That's no punishment for me at all. I used my PTI hexagon plate to die cut some hexagons from Crate Paper's 'The Pier'. I did some nonchalant stitching, added glimmer mist and to finish it off I used two pieces of washi tape. The 'hello' sentiment is from Jillibean and wood veneer embellishment from Studio Calico.
All together quite a messy card, but I like it!

And what about you? Are you playing along with this week's challenge? Hope so!

Maybe you have already seen the change of the name of this blog. I wasn't happy with the blogname as it looked a bit weird: handmade with Saar and Pien. They aren't ingredients for my craft at all... Actually, it was a great example of Dunglish! I like to use Saar and Pien in my blog's name, so I thought of Studio Saar & Pien. The address hasn't changed, so all the older links should work properly.
Enjoy your weekend!

DCL challenge #194 - flowers

Today a card with design papers. Yep, you are not very used to it anymore, as I worked on many CAS cards over the previous months and used only a few papers. But I like to work with design papers, so I created a birthday card with Crate Paper's The Pier. It actually is a summerline, but most of the papers and embellishments are useable throughtout the year. I bought the embellishments with the papers, but still hard to work with them. They are more suitable for LO's I guess. I added a flower to the card which suited perfectly with colours and shape. I inked all of the edges to give it a vintage look.

With this card I like to participate in DCL's current challenge: say it with flowers!
Have a nice evening!

Say it with flowers

Last few weeks I haven't been blogging much  due to the start of a new school year. It always is a busy time with introduction, preparing new lessons, meetings and of course meeting new students and remeeting students I taught last year. And last week I was back in college as well in order to follow lectures to get my qualification as teacher of English. Only until January I have to attend lectures and hopefully I can finish it off somewhere in spring 2014. Looking forward to it!

So, not that much time for blogging myself, visiting other blogs or creating cards and other crafts.
Only one card to share with you. Made with SU paper, PTI's  Rosie Posie and birthday die and stamp. The give the card a bit more dimension I embossed a circle with a Spellbinders die and I love the effect.

I wish you all a very nice weekend!
