Christmas greetings

These two adorable, little friends like wishing you a very nice Christmastime and many blessings in 2012!

I didn't make christmas cards this year, but two, using WMS Tiny Trees.

For the sewing group I belong to I made a small box with some Merci chocolates in it. Last week I ordered a scor-pal at the shop 'knutsel en zo' (together with a paper pad from 4 heures 37, you will see work with it soon!). The scor-pal is a great help and I like making these boxes. And my sewing friends really appreciate this christmas greeting.

I don't have many Christmas decorations at home. But last Wednesday I saw this frame at the 'Blokker' and I had to buy it. The candle light holders were bought last year and it's a perfect match with the silver birds and red stars!

Christmas will be a bit strange for us this year. My husband has to work in the hospital in a dayshift. But on Christmas Eve we will have the 'family-christmas-service' in our church. And I'm looking forward to the services in our church on Sunday. To me it is important to celebrate Jesus' birth and praise God for His gift to us. On Monday we will join a choir and sing in a prison in Belgium and celebrate Christmas with prisoners. We join the services many times a year and I love doing it. It makes me silent because of my happy life and the contrast with these men. Many of them have had a miserable life till now. I hope they will feel some peace this Christmas.

Maybe I pop in coming week with a card I made today, but I still have to make some pictures. Next week we will have a short holiday in Budapest, Hungary! Looking forward to it!

On behalf of Saartje and Pien I wish you many happy hours in the coming week!

Thank you for your visit!

Gefeliciteerd!

Again a card made with a picture designed by Janet and papers from October Afternoon. I love the combination!

I am counting down to the Christmas holidays! I only have one day left for working at school, so tomorrow afternoon I'm finished with my classes. Just studies and some preparations for the week after the holidays. And of course some household chorus (don't like) and craft time (like it!!)

Enjoy your evening!

a flower for you!

When I ordered the papers of Emma´s shoppe I bought the chipboard elements as well. But to be honest, I didn´t know exactly what to do with it. They are very nice, but for me it´s a hard job to work with. Doing nothing with it, it´s a pity, so I decided to give it a try! What do you think? Pretty nice, eh!

Enjoy your weekend!

smile!

Sun is shining here and a nice Saturday afternoon is waiting! This card is again made with Sidewalks by October Afternoon. The adorable girl is designed by 'made by Janet'. Don't you love it? The sentiment is a PTI stamp and stamped on the half of a label four die (nestie).

Enjoy your weekend!

With love

Hi there!

When I uploaded these photos, it gave me a summer feeling. Of course it's because of the paper line (Sidewalks by October Afternoon). This card is on its way to Brazil where my youngest sister lives. And it's spring/summer time over there! Last week the temperatures were about 30-32 degrees Celsius. To me it feels so strange to celebrate the December festivities in such temperatures.

The background of the card is stamped with the grid stamp of WMS Off beat. For the squares I have used the cuttlebug die. The flower die is Marianne's design. A button, ribbon, twine and some stitching and of course a small sentiment. It's part of the Maya's road - cute as a button.

Thanks for hopping by!

Banner

First of all: thank you for the lovely comments on my last post! It made me a bit silent :)
Yes, I'm still busy with studies and work at school. But the hardest part has been finished for this period.
So, I had some time to make a banner for a newborn boy, Max! I sent it instead of a card, so I made a label to write down some words to the parents.

Thanks for your visit! And have a very nice 'Sinterklaas'day!

Hello and have a nice weekend!

With this card I'd like to say hello and wish you a very nice weekend! I used the papers of October Afternoon's Sidewalks and the stampset of PTI 'botanical silhouettes' and 'paper tray'.

Gift card

Hi all!

I made a gift card for a birthday party and I'd like to show it! Unfortunately I couldn't make some pictures by daylight (I had finished both cards just before we left), so the colors aren't great this time. But it gives you an idea.
The gift card has been made with papers from Emma's shoppe. The other card with papers from October Afternoon's Sidewalks.

Hope you like it! Hope to find some time to visit your blogs very soon! I've missed many posts, I guess....

Finally weekend!

It looks like I'm neglecting all your blogs and my own paperwork as well. And in a way it is true, unfortunately.. I haven't made a card in days. Lucky me, I've got some in stock to show you. Again made with the lovely papers of Emma's shoppe by crate paper. The stamp has been bought in the 'white bookshop'. The sentiment is by PTI.

Thank you for hopping by! Wish you a very happy and relaxed weekend.

Hello... says our cat!

Again a short post today. I have to learn for my tests tomorrow (yes, on Saturday...)  and I am actually not allowed to write this post... LOL! Have to learn, but you need a break sometimes, don't you think?

First thing to do for today is saying 'thank you' for all your lovely comments on my posts. It is so encouraging! Thank you!
Today a card with my favorite papers of Crate Paper Emma's shoppe and a stamp bought in a 'white bookshop' as we name it here. It is one stamp and I use dew drops by memento to get two colors. Those pads are small and have a little ending. Very helpful! The ribbon and small tag are bought in the Lenet's webshop.

On behalf of our cat Pien, happy Friday and enjoy your weekend!

fairy children

As I promised two other cards with vintage pictures which I have bought in the Etsy shop of 'Mady by Janet'. I love the atmosphere of her art! The first cards has been made with papers of Eline's huis. The second one with the paperbloc from the Hema.

Thanks for coming by and have a lovely weekend!

vintage digital art

For a long time I'm in love with the nice digital art which is used on cards. One of my favorite crafters, Melissa (Lilybean's paperie )  is using it a lot. But also Dutch crafters. After thinking over it for a long time I just try to make a cart with it by using a freebie. And the result is great.

So, I ordered some more pictures on Etsy and I will come back soon with these on cards!! LOL

Have a nice day!

Inspired by...

Most of my cards are inspired by an idea I saw somewhere on a blog or in a magazine. But as I don't use the same papers, stamps and ribbon the look of the card is so different from the original. And that's what I like from sharing the ideas on the internet. It gives so much inspiration.
This card of Mona Pendleton inspired me yesterday. She used a beautiful sketch with a very favorite stamp set I own as well. But the result is sooooo different!

The next card isn't inspired by an idea I saw, but just the papers, stamps and dies. I made a combination and this is the result!

Thanks for stopping by and have nice and creative weekend!

autumn holidays!!

Dear all,

I'm so happy! I'm off for the autumn holidays!! Looking forward to a lot of free time. Well, actually I have to learn for my tests in November, but no stress at school and no planning. So, hopefully time to work a lot in my craft room as well. This afternoon I will clean a lot in our house, but tonight it will be craft time!
This card I made last weekend. It was an idea which I say in a 'Cards', a book sold in Doorn. Well, I didn't buy the book, but this idea wasn't that difficult.  The colors are warm and fit perfectly in this time of year.

Supplies:
stamps: PTI a little argyle, Maya Road 'cute as a button'
Ink: memento tuxedo black; distress victorian velvet, old paper.
Paper: Hema
others: ribbon, sewing machine, paper distresser, Joy button die.

And a little addition to this post. I told you about the renovation of our living room. One of the changes was our fire place. It is replaced by a wood stove and with the temperatures dropping, it is lovely to have one! It gives a cosy feeling in your house. And as you can see on the pictures more (optical) space in our living. The first picture is the old situation, the others new. I'm so glad with the result!

 Thanks for hopping by!

Weekly blog?

This blog looks like a weekly blog... Hopefully I can blog a bit more frequent than I do now. Well, for today I've got two cards to show. Last Saturday we had a birthday party near Ede. And when you come from the south, you cross Doorn. So, I could convince my DH to go off the highway to visit Paper and Pictures. I bought the Sidewalks paper pad from October Afternoon and the stamp set 'Cute as a button' by Maya road. And of course some other stuff (that shop is a real danger for your wallet). These cards are the first results:

Hope seeing you soon again!

Airplane card

Still busy over here. I must say that live becomes a bit more relaxed in the third week of working in school, but with all the other activities which were planned for weeks ago I don't have much card making time. Unfortunately! But I'm convinced that better times will come.

For my brother in law who celebrated his birthday last week I made this card. Last year I bought some Derwent pencils, but I don't often use them and that is a pity, isn't it? So with this PTI stamp I had a very good reason to take my pencils and work with it!

It's a fun card as I used stamps set from the USA, UK and the Netherlands. Really international!
By the way, I'd like to order on a short term some stamps from Papertrey Ink. This is a question in special for the Dutch readers. Do you have experiences with sending and the customs? Do you have to pay extra taxes for example?
And if I order for myself, I can order for you as well. So if you like to share the shipping costs and so on, please send a message and let's have a look for the possibilities.

Okay, that's for now! Nice seeing you here!

Supplies:
Stamps: PTI Fly Away, Up, up and Away; WMS text it; Eline Pellinkhof
Ink: memento Tuxedo Black, lady bug; Distress ink antique linen
Others: sewing machine, baker's twine, black marker, derwent pencils

Eline's paper

I told you before but the new paperline Pale Patels designed by Eline Pellinkhof is beautiful!  It gives a real vintage feeling to cards without difficult techniques. In special if you use some ribbon and lace. Easy peasy to make a sophisticated card. So, let's start the weekend with two cards with this paperline!

Have a very nice weekend!

Stamps: Paula Pascual, My friend Ronny (Dutch sentiment)

vintage birthday

I made this card for my sister who celebrated her birthday last Saturday. She lives in Brazil, so we couldn't join her on this day. But she had friends visiting her and they brought a lot of post from Holland.
I made this card with the new line of Eline Pellinkhof 'Pale pastels' in combination with her 'music paperbloc' and an old photo. I'm satisfied with the result!

Have a nice evening!

Saturday!!

Finally... Saturday! I survived this week! And the reward is awesome as we have such a beautiful weather. I really enjoy it!
Tonight we have a party of friends who celebrate their 12,5 years wedding anniversary! I made them this card!

I had been thinking for a long time about a present. As they like to cook, love a cosy atmosphere in their house and have a heart for Eastern Europa, I decided to buy a lasagna dish from the collection of Bunzlau Pottery. I love this kind of pottery so much!! Hope they like it as well!

Do you remember the baby card with the giraffe?  Yesterday I made another one for our youngest family member. He was born yesterday and I hurried up to have the card in the post box on time. Maybe it is the first card they have! I stamped his name in stead of 'it's a boy' or something like that. And I embossed the giraffe with clear embossing powder. It gives a very nice effect!

Have a very nice weekend!

Busy week...

It is a very busy week, but still alive! Last Monday I started in a new job at a school. It is temporary job as I replace a teacher who have had an accident. So a lot of preparations for the lessons, giving lessons and to find out how this school works. And many names to remember... Fortunately it's only on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.  I'm afraid the other days will be busy as well with my studies, chores in house and other activities. But no problem, I will handle. Only card making... that's another story.
I made these cards last week, so I can share something!

Thanks for combing by!
