Butterfly

I'm not a person to make cards with a lot of 'tierelantijntjes' as we call it in Dutch or frills in English. That makes my cards a little simple in many cases. When I visit other blogs and see all the techniques which are used and I compare them to mine than my cards are 'easy' in a way. But when I try to add more things to my cards, it feels a bit strange to me. So, I just have to follow my own taste. I don't say that I don't like the cards with more frills, but it is not my style to make them. Fortunately, there a many more crafters with a 'simple' style.

Today I share a card with a sketch I did before. I stamped a background in sunflower yellow (again! I think it is because of the summer!). I die cut four small pieces with the smallest die of the Nestabillity scalloped squares and the butterfly die is by Joy. Some stitching and that's it.

The size of the card is 10.5 x 10.5 cm. It's a pity that it is so hard to find envelopes for this size, because I love these small cards. I know a shop where I could buy it, but it is really expensive. So, if you now a shop which sells this kind of envelopes with a nice price, let me know!

Have a nice day!

Dancing hippo

I'm not really into colouring stamps or cute stamps. Although, I see many nice creations coming by with cute stamps with all kind of  images. I've got some of these stamps from my mom and I have some derwent pencils. So yesterday I decided to use one of those stamps for making a card for our nice who is celebrating her 2nd birthday next Wednesday.

I stamped a background with 'a little argyle' in sunflower yellow (Brilliance dewdrop) and ladybug red (memento ink). The background of the circle is stamped in ladybug red with a stamp from the  'Off Beat' set from WMS.

Together with this mini bag by Cath Kidston it makes a nice birthday present, don't you think?

Thanks for coming by!

Papertrey June Blog Hop Challenge

I've made a card for the PTI blog hop. The picture below was the challenge for today. The colours yellow, red and blue/green attracted me.

So, I decided to stamp a background with 'a little argyl' and 'polka dots basics' in red and yellow. The blue/green bordered accent cut is by Crate paper as well as the punched flowers. The sentiment is a stamp from 'Up, up and away'.

Thanks for your visit and enjoy your weekend!

clean and simple

A totally different card is this one, isn't it? Clean and simple. I found the dessign paper in the local craftshop here and I really don't know the name of this paperline. No name of a brand has been written on the paper. I stamped the background with the 'text it' stampset by WMS with vintage cream ink  (PTI) on kraft cardstock and stichted it with the sewing machine. The sentiment (congratulations) is embossed. I've got a heat gun since a couple of weeks. I haven't done a lot with it yet, because of the time, but the coming weeks I will for sure do some experiments with it.

See you next time!

Baby banner

A couple of weeks ago I made a banner for a newborn baby with stars (here). Yesterday I made again a banner for a newborn baby girl. And now I used circles and instead of brads I used twine.

Paper is from Jillibean ( I bought a lot of this paperline in stock...) Letters are made with the cuttlekids alphabeth. I hope that the postman will take care of this post item!

Thanks for visiting!

Candy shops & a baby card

As I told you we have visited Cambridge. And there were lovely shops! One of them was a real candy shop. To be honest, I really don't have a sweet tooth, but the view of all those candies was stunning.

Many other shops seemed like candy shops, because of all the beautiful stuff which was sold overthere. Off course we visited the Cath Kidston Store. I bought this beautiful wallet:
The shops were in lovely streets with a lot of suprises.

And as card lovers, we love postboxes, don't we? And this is a much better one than our Dutch one's, isn't it?

I didn't see any papercraft shop, but I have bought some ribbon in CallyCo to use for cards. So I made a baby card with this ribbon. The background is stamped with WMS Off Beat and the paper is by Jillibean. The sentiment is by Eline Pellinkhof.

Hm, the colors are in fact more bright. But you've got an idea!

Thanks for visiting!

New stock

I'm back home from Cambridge, UK. We had a very nice week in a beautiful city! And it was a very useful week for the language study! For this week I have totally dived into the books for the tests this week and next week. But there are some small gaps for relaxing in on my 'atelier' with all the paper stuff and so on! It is my plan to make some cards to have in stock. Today's cards is (again!) made with Emma's shoppe. The background is stamped with WMS - Off beat in sunflower yellow. I don't have a stamp to frame the label nr 4, so I made my own by using a stamp from the PTI Vintage labels 1.

The sentiment stamp is part of a set by Artemio and I have bought it at Crafts and Things in Antwerpen, Belgium. I love this set, because of the nice font and the Dutch sentiments (congratulations). I don't like most of the Dutch sentiment, because of the font. So if anyone can design something in a WMS or PTI style in Dutch, I will be your first client!

Back to work for today! Thanks for coming by!

It's a boy!

I love this line from Jillibean and have made many cards with these car-circles. Ideal for baby cards or a birthday of a boy.
The background is stamped with Off Beat from Waltzingmouse!

Busy with chores before I leave for Cambridge. Looking forward to it!

Have a nice weekend!
