one sketch, two cards

I have recently played with some paper pads from crate paper. I didn't use a specific sketch, but I came up with this one just by trying some things. I first created the brown card ( a get well card) and copied that one in a more colourful scheme (birthday).

Flowers

Today two cards with a flower stamp set from the SU Sale-a-Bration folder, What I love. A beautiful set which helps you to create three-step-flowers (is that a word?!). The first card is made with the Dutch Card Lovers challenge In mind where they like to see 'flowers'(so, both cards are fitting in that theme...). I stamped this set in two blues and used my blender pen to add a bit more colour to the leaves. As you can see, I've used the same sketch and sentiment as in my previous post. I needed more 'get well' cards and I love the sketch with the cluster in the upper left corner.

The second card has the same sketch, but instead of matting on patterned paper I used a striped strip on the front of my card. The code word at the Addicted to CAS  blog is 'Red'. In this time of year it is a clear reference to Valentine's Day, but I'm not really a person who celebrates that day, so hopefully a get well card with red as focal point is possible as well!

Awesomely artistic

Thanks to Marit I now possess the SU Awesomely Artistic set after Rhodé and I used the offer to buy the starterskit during the Sale-a-Bration. I fell in love with the bigger flower stamp and the little splashes in this set. I love the card which is published in the annual catalogue and although it is a set which is a little out of the box for me I really wanted to give it a try. For my first card with this set I CASEd the card in the catalogue. I stamped the flowers in red, the splashes in pinks, cut a piece of SU-design paper and added a strip of silver (it looks black in the photo...) and some silver thread. The get well sentiment is stamped with the Alphabet roller stamp.

Vellum #2

Inspired by the challenge at CAS on Sunday and the card I made for it, I continued with vellum. I used two stamp sets from Stampin Up: Lotus Blossom and Painted Petals. I was really fond of these sets when they were released, but I struggle a little when I want to use them. However, with these two cards I am really satisfied. I stamped the sentiment onto the vellum. A strip of patterned paper, kraft and some sewing to finish the card. Unfortunately it is hardly visisble that I used vellum as a layer over the cardbase, but trust me I have used it for sure!

Button Tree

I got a few minutes left and hurried to my craft room. I worked out an idea I had in mind after finding some inspiration on Pinterest. I saw a tree filled with hearts. I thought why not using MFT's buttons and leaves? Yep, I have to practise a bit more the get the shape of the tree better, but for a first attempt it isn't that bad, is it? At the left side I added a strip of paper from Glitz Design and stitched the papers together. It looks like I'm in a CAS mood :)

A bit of folklore

Here again a card from my stash which I haven't shown you yet. When I started with this card I had a totally different idea in my mind to make. But it went a bit differently in a more folk style. The papers are from Basic Grey Picadilly. The flowers from PTI's  Rosie Posie and the sentiment (get well) from Pipoos.

Another picadilly with a tissue flower

I made this card last week, but haven't shown it yet. Again made with Basic Grey's Picadilly and a flower of tissue paper! This time not a zigzag or normal stitch, but a flanel stitch. It was a little experiment on my sewing machine, but it worked out well.
I hope the person who will receive this card will be cheered up!

Happy home!

My brother in law and his wife have moved into a new house. As I don't have an appropriate stamp set for this occasion, I made one myself. I've combined two sentiments of WMS Tiny Trees and made: happy home! The papers are again from BG Picadilly! The other stamps from Maya Road and Eline Pellinkhof. I have bought the flower die on our local market. I die cut the flower three times to get more volume in it.

The next card was an attempt to join the Lift Challenge. But I'm not a big star with sketches... I made a little draft on a small paper and went into my 'atelier'. After finishing the card I saw that I didn't use the sketch well. But no problem. It is a nice card to send to someone, isn't it? Papers are from Jillibean, butterfly die from Joy!

Many of you commented on my use of combinations of heavy printed paper. I was thinking of the reason why I like to use the papers in this way. Maybe it has something to do with my quilter's background. I am a quilter for more than 10 years (started at the age of 19 after being motivated by my mother). I really like to make combinations with fabrics and colors. Many 'rules' helps a quilter to make the good mix. It has to do with dark-light colors, kind of prints etc. In fact with scrappaper it works the same. So, if you like to know more about this, I recommend you to borrow a quilt book for beginners and it will definitely help you to make nice combinations!

Spoedig herstel!

I still have some papers of Basic Grey's Lemonade. Perfect for a 'get well' card. I punched some flowers and stamped the stems with a PTI stamp. A bow of seam binding and a little heart near the sentiment. Perfect card to cheer up someone!

More picadilly

Today two more cards with Basic Grey - Picadilly. The first is a 'party' card. The banner is made with a Spellbinders' die. The embossing folders is borrowed from a friend. And in this card it is a very good addition!

 

The second card is again a 'get well soon' card. The flowers are stamped an punched out. The background is distressed with old paper. Almost illegible, but on the leaves your can read: with love (in Dutch). I made this card 11.45 pm (yes, I know, a bit crazy, but it was calling me for a kind of lullaby LOL ).

The problem with the pictures has been solved. I found the solution on a forum for bloggers. It wasn't that difficult. It has to do with the HTML code. The result is much better now! If you have troubles with blurry picutres, just leave me a comment and I'll try to help you!

Picadilly

As I promised you I'd like to show you some cards I made with Basic Grey - Picadilly. And I'm sure it won't be the last post with this paperline. I'm totally in love with it! It gives me a real feeling of spring. And with the sun shining here today, it makes me happy!!

First card is a birthday card. I used for the sentiment a banner die from spellbinders. Love the font of an old typemachine! The sketch is an oldie. I used it for so many times. But I need more stock of cards for selling. And this sketch is quick and easy and a favorite to the buyers. Some ribbon and twine must be added (that's me!) and the buttons to finish the card.

I hear you sighing: not again these birds.... I'm sorry, love working with this stamp... And again a quick way of making a card. The Dutch sentiment means 'get well' 

I promise you this week I'll post also some more cards without this sketch!!

I'm still not satisfied with the quality of the pictures in blogspot. Today I made this pictures in a higher resolution (jpeg/ fine) but it is still a bit blurry after posting. It looks like blogspot resizes the pictures to a very small resolution. I've looked for tricks, but can't find a solution. Do you have any suggestion?

Add: Just found out how to change the quality of pictures in blogspot! Tell you tomorrow!

With some leftovers from 'Eline's huis - roses are red' I've made this card. The sentiment is stamped on a label four which I cut in two parts. The embroidered rose is a real eye-catcher. Maybe it is not really visible on the picture, but I put a small lace border, to give the card a vintage feeling. And to finish the card some strass in the left upper corner. Hope you like it!

My mother asked me to make a card for her quilt friend. I used the same idea from the butterflies card from last week, but now I used buttons (Dies from Joy). She was happy with the result!

For this card I stamped the background with WMS Off Beat in Pearlescent Poppy (Tsukineko). The front paper has been stamped with a grid stamp (also Off Beat) in Antique Linen. The doilies by My mind's eye have been stamped with Pink Petunia and again Pearlescent Poppy. I love this color combo! A gem in the middle of the doily is the real finishing touch.

I made some cards!

Life seems almost normal after a week in Romania. Laundry is done, the mess is away and the students who were with us last week in Romania for the exhange program gave us a very good mark for the organisation! That gives a good feeling! And time to make some cards!

The first card is a 'get well' card! I stamped a background with 'text it' from Waltzingmouse Stamps and antique linen ink and I used a flower from the stampset 'up, up and away' from PTI. I stitched with the sewing machine without a thread. So you get just some holes, but it gives a nice detail to the card.

The post stamps are from PTI. Unfortunatly I don't have this set, but Marit offered me to have swap. Thanks a lot, Marit!! It is a pity that dispatching from PTI (the USA) is so expensive. PTI has so many beautiful stamp sets. So if you know someone who could arrange something, let me know :)

The other one is a 'with sympathy' card. I used again the doily stamps from MME. I love this set. I stamped again a background with 'text it' and stamped the doily with Paris Dusk from Memento.
