Butterflies

Last week Rhodé came over for a card making date. She brought the SU Watercolor Wings set. What a great set it is. I made a bunch of cards with the set in blues and one grey colour. I used a sentiment from Papertrey Ink.

And finally I made one in reds. With the red one I'd like to participate in the current k&k challenge - one layer card

Let's fly away!

A boy in our church is severly ill. I wanted to send a card which hopefully makes him smile. I used the same idea as this card I made previously. For the boy is used the airplane from the Fly away set from Papertrey Ink. The papers are from SU. This boy has got a younger brother and I thought it would be nice to send him a card as well. Same idea, but different colours. I didn't add a sentiment, just because I don't know what kind of sentiment would be appropriate. I wrote a message inside and invited the boys to become the pilot of these airplanes. Hopefully they love these cards!

It was really hard to film and get the airplane moving at the same time.  Other times the airplane flew quite smoothly...

Watercolouring

I have tried some water colouring recently. I heat embossed stamps from the SU What I love set and coloured them with distress inks. This is the result. I used a birthday die from Avery Elle and a wishes stamp from Papertrey Ink. I splashed some ink as the final touch.

London Mice parade

These London Mice from MFT stamps are joining  the parade singing a birthday song for our niece!
For this card I was inspired by Laura's spinner card tutorial . Aren't they adorable?

Flowers and texts

Last week a couple from our church got married. I attended the church service and saw a beautiful wreath with flowers on the front page of the order of service. It was also on their wedding card. That was the inspiration for the card! I stamped the bible text which the sermon was about on a card with the SU alphabet roller stamp, stamped flowers and branches with PTI's  Twig Wreath and adhered this front panel onto one of the plaid designs from Lawn Fawn.

I also needed a card for a 25th wedding anniversary. Same idea with a different text.

And as the Twig Wreath set was still on my desk I also stamped a very quick congrats card with a  Els Brigé stamp.

partial embossing

The silence here at this blog definitely says something about my productivity in the last two months. Yep, I haven't created any card at all. No time, no inspiration, too many other things to do. I don't worry about such periods. Experience tells me that time and inspiration will come back sooner or later. This morning I had a quick look at Pinterest and saw a tutorial by GerJanne. It is about partial embossing. Beautiful technique and this afternoon I gave it a try. I needed a card for a couple from our church who have been married for 40 years. I used an embossing folder from SU, dies from Simply Graphic and Lawn Fawn, the alphabet roller stamps from SU and the splashes are from SU as well.

By the way, I really am a lurker in blogland at the moment. I'm sure that one day I will have time to read everything and leave you comments. I promise!

Flowers

Today two cards with a flower stamp set from the SU Sale-a-Bration folder, What I love. A beautiful set which helps you to create three-step-flowers (is that a word?!). The first card is made with the Dutch Card Lovers challenge In mind where they like to see 'flowers'(so, both cards are fitting in that theme...). I stamped this set in two blues and used my blender pen to add a bit more colour to the leaves. As you can see, I've used the same sketch and sentiment as in my previous post. I needed more 'get well' cards and I love the sketch with the cluster in the upper left corner.

The second card has the same sketch, but instead of matting on patterned paper I used a striped strip on the front of my card. The code word at the Addicted to CAS  blog is 'Red'. In this time of year it is a clear reference to Valentine's Day, but I'm not really a person who celebrates that day, so hopefully a get well card with red as focal point is possible as well!

Awesomely artistic

Thanks to Marit I now possess the SU Awesomely Artistic set after Rhodé and I used the offer to buy the starterskit during the Sale-a-Bration. I fell in love with the bigger flower stamp and the little splashes in this set. I love the card which is published in the annual catalogue and although it is a set which is a little out of the box for me I really wanted to give it a try. For my first card with this set I CASEd the card in the catalogue. I stamped the flowers in red, the splashes in pinks, cut a piece of SU-design paper and added a strip of silver (it looks black in the photo...) and some silver thread. The get well sentiment is stamped with the Alphabet roller stamp.

roses are blue?!

When making cards your fantasy can go everywhere. I don't know if there are blue roses, but on my cards it is possible! I stamped a background with the roses and leaves stamps from SU Painted Petals. The sentiment (Papertrey Ink)  is heat embossed on black cardstock. Some metal thread and some gems are the finishing touch.

Maybe a little too sweet is the next one. Same idea, but now in pinks...

Dots

I am a lover of dots! Some collegues call me 'Mrs. Dotty' as my school bag has got dots, I have one favourite dress with dots and my summer coat has got dots as well. I guess there are worse nicknames you can get... In the Stampin Up set 'Painted Petals' is one stamp with a row of dots which I used for today's cards. I was inspired by Lauren Bassen's bright and colourful designs. She often uses black cardstock and heat embossing techniques for her sentiments in combination with thread, for example this one. The sentiments I have used are from Els Brigé's ''t Is je verjaardag' set. Hardly visible, but I addes on some dots a little 'wink of Stella'.

I stamped a second card in same colour combo of greens and blues, but I heat embossed a sentiment with gold embossingpowder.

A bunch of cards - Blue & Green

I've got a bunch of cards for you today! And they have one common theme, namely blue and green. I am a lover of blue and I've got some new ink cubes from PTI with blue tones. Love them! So, here we go!

I have been a fan of Els Brigé for a long time. I love her versatile style, the soft colours she uses and the many techniques she performs. The last couple of weeks I couldn't catch up with reading blogs, so I totally missed the launch of her stamp sets. When I discovered them last week, I was over the moon! Finally, some Dutch sentiment stamps which I really, really like! So, I immediately ordered two sets ('t Is je verjaardag - warme wensen) and received them very fast. Today I show you some cards with the Birthday set.
For the first card I used Avery Elle's balloons and stamped them in blues and green/aqua. With this card I like to participate in the current Addicted to Stamps challenge.

For the next card I used a SU set. I have some troubles with this set. I have seen many card with it, which are beautiful, but when I ink the stamps and try to do something with it... well, it doesn't work that well. However, I'm quite satisfied with this one. Just some flower stamping and one bold sentiment. I distressed the edges with a paper distresser tool.

In my previous post I showed you some card made with Papertrey Ink's Twig Wreath. Well, this set works perfectly well with Els Brigé's stamps.

And finally, two more wreaths, but now with a sentiment from PTI and the other one made with a Lawn Fawn's ABC.

Vellum #2

Inspired by the challenge at CAS on Sunday and the card I made for it, I continued with vellum. I used two stamp sets from Stampin Up: Lotus Blossom and Painted Petals. I was really fond of these sets when they were released, but I struggle a little when I want to use them. However, with these two cards I am really satisfied. I stamped the sentiment onto the vellum. A strip of patterned paper, kraft and some sewing to finish the card. Unfortunately it is hardly visisble that I used vellum as a layer over the cardbase, but trust me I have used it for sure!

SU meets PTI

I really love matching and mixing papers, stamps and brands. Last year I bought patterned paper from SU and I wanted to create something with it. So, I looked at the papers and thought of  Papertrey Ink's Ruby Rose. Perfect Match! The sentiment is from PTI as well.

I have been working since Monday after a lovely summer break. New schoolyear, fresh start! Have to find my rythm again, but after the first week I will be used to it again.

Christmas cards

Every year somewhere in November I tell myself I'm not going to make Christmas cards and every year somewhere in December I creep into my craft room and make a bunch of cards. So, in 2014 it is the same. Actually, I designed this series of cards by accident. On my desk was a silver glimmer mist waiting for the day when it would be used. Last week I saw it there and I saw some stencils I bought this year. I just gave it a try to see if what the result would be. And before I knew it, I had lots of cards in my hand. I stamped Christmas wishes on it with a Lawn Fawn's ABC set, did some sewing a stamped here and there some red hearts. Finally a bit of twine and that's it. DCL asked for a series of 10x10 Christmas cards and CASology for Silver (I used silver glimmer, unfortunately it is hardly visible on the photos).

SU Flowerpot

When I received the SU catalogue from Marit , last June, one product caught my attention immediately: the paperline 'Flowerpot'. Such bright colours, lovely little flowers and stripes and dots.
Today, I show you some cards I've made with these papers!

The first one is a card for a newborn. I used Avery Elle's Storybook and Balloons stamps. The grassy border is from Lawn Fawn as well as the ABC.

A congrats cards, made with Lawn Fawn stamps. I used 'wink of stella' for some glitter effect on the hippo.

For the third one I used a stamp from PTI and a star die from Lawn Fawn.

And last but not least, quite CAS and also some wink of stella glitter for the party effect:

Hearts!

Today I've got hearts for you! I die cut small hearts with a Lawn Fawn die out of a Stampin Up paper pad. The word dies are from Clearly Besotted Stamps. For the first card I used a 'happy' stamp from PTI. It was a long time ago since I used some ribbon on my cards, so I added a nice bow on the second card.

With these cards, I'd like to participate in the current CAS-challenge at the Addicted to Stamps-blog.

Stars!

Last week I got new goodies from Stampin Up! I thought I would have plenty of time this week to play with it. However, my week was a bit different than expected. I only produced one card... And here it is.

I used the new stars template for the background. Marit put a present in my order and I used these papers for some small strips. Washi tape, stitching, strass stars and a sentiment  (also from a SU set) were added. I didn't have time to take a proper picture as I was busy with finishing the schoolyear and preparing for our holiday. The camera has already been packed. After our holiday I will take a better one. 

For now I say goodbye as I take my summer break! Looking forward to playing with all the goodies after coming home! Enjoy the summer and see you later!

Banners

A few weeks ago I won a give- away at Marit's blog. I received  the prize, a Stampin Up Banner Punch and Banner Blast stamp set last Saturday. Thank you, Marit!

I immediately made a card with the set and came up with this idea:

Can you believe that these banners are stamped? It looks like patterned papers! I used Real Red, Daffodil Delight and Melon Mambo inks from SU. The love-banners are embossed with gold powder. The strips of paper at the top and bottom of the cars are from Stampin Up as well. I link this card to the SU-per challenge blog where they ask to use red, dark pink and yellow. Well, I don't have the same colours as they have used, but hopefully this card fits in the their theme.

Say it with flowers

Last few weeks I haven't been blogging much  due to the start of a new school year. It always is a busy time with introduction, preparing new lessons, meetings and of course meeting new students and remeeting students I taught last year. And last week I was back in college as well in order to follow lectures to get my qualification as teacher of English. Only until January I have to attend lectures and hopefully I can finish it off somewhere in spring 2014. Looking forward to it!

So, not that much time for blogging myself, visiting other blogs or creating cards and other crafts.
Only one card to share with you. Made with SU paper, PTI's  Rosie Posie and birthday die and stamp. The give the card a bit more dimension I embossed a circle with a Spellbinders die and I love the effect.

Back in town

After having had a wonderful holiday we are back home! And between laundry, stocking our fridge and reading newspapers from the past few weeks I have already made one card! SU papers and ink meet Papertrey's stamps:

Quite a simple card, but I was in a hurry as I needed the card for a birthday party yesterday evening.
More projects are waiting to work on for next week and I'm looking forward to it. And I soon start reading new blogposts, curious what you have been working on!
