Weekend!

The first week at my school is over and went very well! I've got nice pupils and colleagues and the atmosphere is very positive. I've just finished preparations for next week, so my weekend has started!

Today I'd like to share  a quick card I made this week. I inked up my PTI's Garden Variety set and the grass stamp from Hanging out. The papers I used are from 4heures37.

Enjoy your weekend and thanks for stopping by!

Follow your heart...

I'm not quite sure if I agree with the text of this card, but the picture was too beautiful for not using :) I cut out this picture from a 12x12 paper of the MME Follow your heart line. I used scraps from the same line, some stitching and lace and one of my favorite birthday sentiments at the moment. The postmark stamp is from 'Eline's huis'.

Tomorrow I will give the very first lessons at my new school! I'm exited, but got also a bit of tension in my body... I'm sure I'll manage! I hope ;)

Thanks for hopping by!

DCL #152 - Tape it!

As winner of the DCL challenge of twee weeks ago I was asked to participate as guest designer in the challenge of today! So I did!

The challenge is to use tape! Well, washi tape is a best seller these days, but I  hadn't any singe tape roll. So, I went to our local Hema and they had left me a few designs (it is really a must have I guess, even to teenagers!). But it was enough for making this card! I didn't have a special sketch in mind, so I just stuck the tape on the base card to see what would happen. I had some left overs from MME on my desk (which contains a huge pile of stuff!) and those snips fitted perfectly on the tape. By the way, it's not only washi tape, but also the so called cute tape.

The sentiment is from the PTI 2012 Birthday Tags and stamped with Memento Sky Blue. In real it is a bit darker and better readable.

Anyway, I think I'm hooked! What about you?
Check the DCL blog for more details about this challenge and enjoy the fun of taping!

Have a nice weekend!

Pattern Paper Challenge

At the Crate Paper's blog I read this:
Who doesn't look at a quilt and think, "Now that would be great on paper!"?

Well,  as a quilter myself I have thought this many times! This week's Creative Weekly is about maximizing pattern, taking it the next level and making it the central focus of one's design. And Crate paper asked to participate in this challenge, so I did!

One of my favorite quilt blocks is the nine patch. A very simple block, but with great effects in a quilt. I've chosen two of my favorite patterns from Emma's shoppe and created the background for my card. As a sort of applique I put a border and a flower with one of the chipboard elements and felt. The sentiment is from Papertrey 2012 Birthday Tags. I did some stitching to give it a quilt effect. That's my 'quilt card'!

Enjoy today and thanks for coming by!

Lollipop

First of all, thank you so much for your lovely comments on my previous post with the baby cards! I love sending cards, but as you probably can imagine, this time it was a bit hard to say goodbye to these ones :).
I made the cards for the Dutch Card Lovers- Challenge and I won! Thank you, DCL-team!
Add: I've just found out that I'm also in the top-3 at 'A passion for papertrey' blog

Due to the warm weather of the last few days I haven't made cards but one. I started late in the evening when the temperature dropped and finished it the next morning early... Again I used Emma's shoppe. The polka dots are stamped with PTI's polka dot 1 set. I've still got many chipboard elements of this line, but it's hard for me to use them although I really like the elements. Maybe, they are a bit to big for cards. But this lollipop fits perfectly.

For today no special plans, just some cleaning and preparing for the new school year which starts next week.  And maybe some crafting in the evening!

Wish you a lovely day!

Clouds and babies

I need two baby cards (one boy, one girl), I saw the challenge from the Dutch Card Lovers (use clouds) and the challenge from A Passion for Papertrey (take your pick) and my brains started working! These ingredients were a perfect combination for a nice job. And it turned out quite well! I'm happy with it!

I'm still in love with PTI's Hanging out for baby cards and since a short time ago I'm the owner of the PTI cloud dies. So I distressed white paper with tea dye ink, stamped a bit, die cut the clouds out of the base paper and glued some designed paper on the back. The borders are made with MME Follow your heart and of course I did some stitching. The girls card is a bit more romantic with the seam binding, the boys card is a bit more clean. Maybe I had to use another cloud as well, but I didn't know the spot where to put the second one....

Thank you for stopping by!

P.s. By the way, if you have seen Cornelie's card (also a great one! check her post!) and might think I'm copying her, I made the card before I saw hers! We've got just the same taste, haven't we Cornelie?

Back to normal life

Our life is almost back to daily routine, although I've got holidays till the end of next week. The children who spent their holiday with us left last weekend and after some cleaning and washing the laundry our house is back in normal position. We had a great time together, but it definitely took a lot of energy. But we enjoyed their smiles! I stamped with them as well and they liked it a lot. Unfortunately I didn't take pictures of the results. Of course I helped them a bit, but they had a creative mind and the cards turned out well!

This afternoon I transferred the guestroom back  into craft room. So I can reach all my stuff and use the sewing machine, cuttlebug and other equipment more easily. And of course I made a card. I've got many left overs from Crate Paper's Emma Shoppe and I liked to use them. The result is a bit chaotic... I hope my friend will  like the card!

Guess what! I've won the give away on Inge's blog!  Inge will send me a set of cards, created by Revlie. Lucky me! Thank you, Inge and Revlie!

Thank you for hopping by and see you soon!

Sending you....

Finally, I've made another card! At the moment we have two little guests (a brother and sister of 9 and 7 years old) who are staying with us for 2,5 weeks. It is organised by Europa Kinderhulp (Europe Children Aid). We've got a great time together, but I have to admit it costs a lot of energy. My craft room has been transferred into a guestroom although the little girl prefers sleeping in the same room as her brother. All her stuff is still in my craft room. But this morning I organised it a bit, took my stuff and created a card under supervision of the two children who had never seen something like that! Next week I will stamp some cards with them, so they can bring them home for their mother and family.

This card is made with This & That - Echo Park. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink and I distressed the label a bit with tea dye. I've seen many beautiful cards with this colour and I love it! So I ordered finally one myself! I made a frame by stitching (unfortunately a bit crooked). I added a small lace border as the card was still a bit empty. It was the perfect finishing touch.

By the way, for everyone who supported me during my tests in June: I passed all of them. So happy as you can imagine!
Hopefully, the breaks on this blog will be a bit smaller in the coming period. I hope to find some time for participating in the jubilee challenges of the Lift Challenge Blog. Congrats on the first year, ladies!

Thank you for coming by!
