I know, it can't be easier! These cards are so simple, but I like them! Perfect for stylish cards with accent on beautifully designed papers. I used a die and alphabet stamps from Lawn Fawn and papers from My Mind's Eye.

Today is Marit's birthday and I made her this card with MME Nostalgia and Paired Up from Clearly Besotted Stamps. The sentiment is from PTI's Mini Blooms.

I link this card to the blog of Clearly Besotted Stamps where the very first challenge is 'Anything goes'. I possess two sets of CBS so far, but there are more on my wishlist. For this card I used the branch with leaves and blossoms from Paired Up, but lucky me, that's enough for the challenge.

Back to work now. This week and next week will be busy with tests and exams.

Lifting

Enjoy your birthday!

Finally, sun is shining!I think the whole country was longing for this moment after many cloudy days in a row. Unfortunately, I caught a bad cold last week and I'm still sneezing and trying to find my voice... Despite this cold I made a few cards this weekend. Today one which is made with PTI's mini blooms dies and stamps, birthday die and some MME's papers from 'Follow your Heart'.

Garden Variety

Only a very quick post with a birthday card today For this card I used PTI's Garden Variety and papers from MME Nostalgia. I love the set! And by using other papers you can make a totally different card each time you use this set,even when it is the same sketch. The border with hearts is from MFT Homespun Hearts.

Valentine style

No, I'm not really into Valentine's Day, but when I saw the challenge on the new, sparkling challengeblog 'Cas on Sunday' I thought: let's give it a try! And here is my card:

The card is made with MFT Homespun Hearts and MME Nostalgia. The background is distressed with Antique Linen and all the borders with Tea Dye.

I made a litte card (10x10) with MME's Follow your heart. Still in love with this line. It doesn't need that much as the paper is printed with a beautiful doily and roses. The sentiment and heart border is from 'Homespun Hearts' by MFT.The button is from a set with stars, hearts and funny rabbits I got from my mother.

Did you see or hear the announcement of our queen? What a surprise! It is a strange idea that in a few months she won't be our queen anymore.I've got a deep respect for her as she did a lot for The Netherlands. Tonight on tv I heard a few people from my generation speaking about "our" Queen and it feels a bit the same for me. I was only a few months old when she became queen and my mum always tells me about sitting on her knee and watching the ceremony with full attention.  Unfortunately I haven't got a photo of that...

Thinking of you

Tests are over! Yesterday evening I did the last two tests. Such a relief! Hopefully I've got pass marks, but I have to wait a couple of weeks before I will know. Some tests were really hard. Let's hope the best. Today was my day off, so I had enough time to make a card. I used the papers and stamps which were still on my craft table. It means that I show you again a card made with MME Nostalgia and MFT's Homespun Hearts. The background is stamped with PTI's polka dots. It is not a card which makes me very satisfied. Maybe this idea worked better when I designed a 10/15 cm card. But I like the stamped 'heart-flower' with the sentiment!

Hugs & flowers

While studying I need a break sometimes and these breaks I love to spend in my craft room. And that's how this card is created. I didn't have any idea what to do and I just started. I made a background from several designs from Nostalgia. And I made these four designs more equal by spraying with glimmer mist. Never used it before, so I was a bit anxious to use it. But it turned out well and I like the effect on the background. I stamped a centre piece with Antique linen and a grid stamp. And of course, again I used some stamps from  Homespun Hearts.

Yesterday I had the first two tests and I've got a good feeling. Looking forward to seeing the results. Tuesday are the other two. 

Last week I celebrated my birthday and I got a gift from our nephews and nieces which was really nice and creative, so I'd like so show it to you. Every one decorated a litte bottle with 'window plastic' (do you know what I mean?), which was cut into different figures, letters and fantasy shapes. Of course, some of them had a little help from their mothers. These bottles were put on a lovely tray and filled with flowers. Really original, isn't it? Unfortunately it is a bit hard to take photos of the decorated bottles, but this one is quite visible. 

Thank you for your comments on the problem with uploading. I downloaded Chrome again (I removed it after having problems with it when strange links occured in websites) and now I can upload photos without any problem.

Homespun Hearts

In my previous post I told you I got my order with the MFT's Homespun Hearts. I ordered the heart stamps, the heart dies and hearts border die. This weekend I made a card and I'm very satisfied with the result. In special the border die is a great addition to my craft stock. I used the papers of MME Nostalgia.

 

 

 

 

Unfortunately I have to wait a bit before a can do more with this set. First of all I have to finish the tests before crafting... One week to go!

Thanks to the snow I didn't have any difficulty with taking pictures today. A perfect light tent! It is so bright inside although there is no sunshine at the moment. I was so glad I didn't have any problems this morning to travel to school. We were right on time and we  drove only an extra 15 minutes over 50 km. However, some of my students were less fortunate....

By the way, I usually upload pictures to my blog directly from my laptop. But it looks like it isn't possible anymore. Do you know why it is or do I have to thick a box somewhere? Now, I have to upload the photos first to picasaweb. A bit time consuming, isn't it?

Baby card

This week a little baby girl was born and I made a card for her parents. It won't suprise you I chose the Hanging Out set from PTI. In your comments on my previous post with Hanging Out you told me it won't bother you if I would show more cards with this set. So, here you are. And if you are getting bored, hop quickly over to the next blog you like to visit ;-).

Yesterday I received my order from 'Bij Oma Dee'. I ordered MFT Homespun hearts (lovely set!) and a paper pad from MME Nostalgia. This paperline has got a vintage look which is perfect for baby cards. It looks a bit the same I did before, but the use of papers gives this card a 'new' look. I love it. Unfortunately I didn't pay attention to the ribbon while taking photos, so you can't read the sentiment very well.

I had to buy these tulips yesterday. It is cold outside, but the flowers give a bit of a spring feeling...

Follow your heart...

I'm not quite sure if I agree with the text of this card, but the picture was too beautiful for not using :) I cut out this picture from a 12x12 paper of the MME Follow your heart line. I used scraps from the same line, some stitching and lace and one of my favorite birthday sentiments at the moment. The postmark stamp is from 'Eline's huis'.

Tomorrow I will give the very first lessons at my new school! I'm exited, but got also a bit of tension in my body... I'm sure I'll manage! I hope ;)

Clouds and babies

I need two baby cards (one boy, one girl), I saw the challenge from the Dutch Card Lovers (use clouds) and the challenge from A Passion for Papertrey (take your pick) and my brains started working! These ingredients were a perfect combination for a nice job. And it turned out quite well! I'm happy with it!

I'm still in love with PTI's Hanging out for baby cards and since a short time ago I'm the owner of the PTI cloud dies. So I distressed white paper with tea dye ink, stamped a bit, die cut the clouds out of the base paper and glued some designed paper on the back. The borders are made with MME Follow your heart and of course I did some stitching. The girls card is a bit more romantic with the seam binding, the boys card is a bit more clean. Maybe I had to use another cloud as well, but I didn't know the spot where to put the second one....

Baby card #2

I promised you the other card for a baby girl too. Here it is! A bit more romantic with My Mind's Eye papers, stitching and a ribbon of seam binding! And a bit of stamping inside.

My CAE exam went surprisingly well yesterday! I think I've got that one in my pocket. Unfortunately, wel'll have to wait till July 25th before the results are available... Tonight two tests and that makes me learning right now. But learning while sitting in the sunshine is not really a punishment. Thank you all for your 'good lucks'!!

Inspired by the card I made for the DCL, last Thursday, I made another card with My Mind's Eye - Follow your heart. I used one of the prints and designed the card a bit like the sketch from DCL. The kraft cardstock gives the card another feature, but still a bit romantic.

Dutch Card Lovers #140

The blog of DCL celebrates its third birthday with three sketches as challenge for this week. I haven chosen one of them and worked it out in a CAS way. I admire the CAS style and reading many blogs of very talented CAS paper crafters. I used papers of MME Follow your Hear - Be Happy. The sentiment is from PTI. I die cut the blue grid paper with one side of Spellbinders Label 1.

Lovely, beautiful, darling

I'm so happy. I've just found out I have been selected randomly as the winner of the Papertrey ink's 'Make it Monday challenge' of last week. I couldn't believe my eyes. I've never seen a winner outside the USA (or I missed it) and now a 'Dutchie' got the price! Woohoo! Actually I've got lucky for a second time. I entered two cards into the challenge and the second one was highlighted on Facebook as a featured project!
The  challenge for this week seems to be a nice one as well. The example is made with the Rosie Posie set. This set is such a beautiful one! I saw it is out of stock again like a couple of weeks ago. I had to wait for this set as well. It is definitely one of the best sellers of PTI.

For today I've got a card to show which I made last week. As you will understand the last days I didn't stay regularly in my craft room. The weather outside is too beautiful. But sitting in the sun for hours don't work for me, so that 's why I'm inside for a while and do some things on the laptop (actually, I have to work on an assignment, but looking for some nice things on the www is much more interesting. LOL! In special when you find out something like the message of PTI)

I purchased the MME's Follow your heart - be happy and was looking for a way to work with the bigger patterns on some papers. I looked for the seizes and found that one of these designs could be used on a square card (13/13 cm). I matched it with three other patterned papers from the same series and punched out one border and cut two strips. Some stitching gave it a better look. The stars in the left upper corner are stamped and match perfectly with the stars which printed. The sentiment tag is from PTI 2012 Birthday tags (the stars as well). The seam binding, button and twine made the finishing touch. All edges were inked with vintage photo.

Later today a barbecue together with our family is on the programme ! The first one for this year and hopefully not the last one! Enjoy your day and the beautiful weather!

DCL #139 & Make it Monday #67

For today two challenges in one card! The team of DCL  has given a sketch as a challenge for this week. You can find the sketch here. Betsy Veldman of the Papertrey Ink team explained in a video how to mix patterned papers. The regular visitors of my blog know that I love mixing and matching, although I mostly mix and match with papers of the same brand. But lucky me, this was also allowed for the 'Make it Monday'-challenge of this week. If you struggle with mixing and matching you definitely have to go Nichole's blog and watch the video.

For this card I mixed the different papers of My Mind's Eye - Be Happy. It offers polka dots, gingham, hexagons, stripes and drawings. I mixed them all up and tried to find little drawings (like a bird and rose) for the small squares of the sketch in combination with less designed papers. I tried to find some contrast as well between the squares. For the border I mixed a gingham with a grid in the same colour scheme. Unfortunately the pattern of the square at the right upper side  is hardly visible, but it is a hexagon pattern in a very soft pink color.

The sentiment is from the 2012 Birthday Tags of PTI stamped with Tsukineko Brilliance Pearlescent Poppy. I did some stitching and inked the edges a bit with distress ink Vintage Photo. The ribbon is a nice addition to complete the card.

Follow your heart!

Saturday evening my husband arrived  back home safely! And so did our photo camera! After my classes this afternoon I made first some pictures of the cards made last week. I will share them in the coming days.

First a card made with My Mind's Eye - Follow your heart. A lovely paper line with soft pastels and vintage pictures. I made a mix with the papers and seam binding. Last week I saw the idea of working with tissue paper in a Dutch craft magazine. I had to buy this kind of paper and did some experiments with it. I think you will see it more in the near future! I punched some (scalloped) circles out of five layers of tissue papers and put them together. The flower is inked with distress ink (victorian velvet). The sentiment is from the stamp set Cute as a button from Maya road.

Judith was so kind to make me some pictures of the card I sent her for her birthday last week (see my previous post). And of course I'd like to show the result. I'm glad to hear she was happy with her birthday card!
