New Year's cards

I haven't made any christmascard this year and only two New Year's cards which I like to show today. The first one was inspired by Ellen's card. I had some handmade kraft paper which tears perfectly. I heat embossed '2016' in the centre of the star (hardly visible on the pictures) and wrote a wish inside the card as I didn't have much space on the front to stamp a wish.

I used the same kraft paper on the second card. With some twine I created a centre on the design paper. I added two stars and stamped  a wish. Looks very simple, but it took me a long time before I was content with the result.  

Hopefully the postman did a good job and delivered these on time.The cards are also a little bit for you, dear readers. I wish you a very happy, healthy, creative and blessed 2016!

Partial die-cutting

I needed a few cards for sending New Year's wishes. I have collected a few tutorials on partial die-cutting and now was the time to try it out. In a way it was quite easy, although the first attempt failed! The plate was over the pencil line and so the numbers were die-cut completely...
 I used Lawn Fawn's Finley's Numbers, kraft cardstock and a gingham background. At first it looked a bit boring, so I stamped here and there on the cardstock, added some embellishments, but it didn't work. That's why I kept the card very simple, it was the most beautiful way. I adhered the front panel with foam tape to give it some dimension.
